Merry Christmas

This is one of our many attempts to get a family Christmas Card picture....notice Thomas is trying to squirm his way out.

We hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. I truly love this time of season and love the reminders we have been getting through our sermon series at church of what a special and meaningful time this truly is. Without the birth of Christ....where would we all be? I am so thankful for that night, the love, and the hope that came with His birth.
This morning I was reminded of the power of the Holy Spirit...not only at His birth..but still today. One of His many names we call on is -Emanuel-
God with us. Praise God that He is with us!

John's dad finally got back home tonight and we were able to share our newest blessing with them. We met my parents last night and told them.So......

Honestly, I am still in shock but so excited I can hardly contain myself. We are just so thankful for HIS blessings.

Baby Cross

We were blessed this morning with a healthy baby report. The sonogram looked great. We are still waiting to tell some close family members and then I will post. Thanks for praying for our family during this exciting time.

Just some pics of Thomas I wanted to share. Tomorrow is the big day. We get to see our baby for the first time via sonogram. We just pray everything is developed and healthy. The good news is ..that God already has what we need picked out...girl or boy?

Latest Project

I don't have a picture of what our old front yard looked liked...but picture this..lots of BIG shrubs and then some little ones....so we, well John mostly, took on the front yard this week. He dug up HUGE hollies and bushes that had been in the ground for 30 years. I know it is hard to really see, but we think in a few years it will be pretty.
Thanks big John for working hard all this week and for Chad's advise on what to plant.

Just In Case You Haven't Heard.....

So I stole this from LT's blog. I need to get the pictures taken of Thomas and his cousin at the game from my sister in law. They had such a good time together. They had no idea how important the game was...however, Thomas would clap when everyone cheered. Go DAWGS. We are very proud of our team and our coach! Hopefully this is the beginning of something beautiful for Thomas and he will carry on the tradition of cheering for the DAWGS!!!

Oh and Go DAWGS....we are headed to the Egg Bowl tomorrow and are so excited. We have been busy teaching Thomas the fight song, how to shake his pom-pom, and lot of other MSU cheers...pics to come.

Baby Cross Update

We went to our fabulous doctor on Thursday for a 14 week check up. We find out Dec. 13th what our little blessing is. I kind of think boy....but who knows. We are just praying for a health baby, not matter what.
Also, May is going to be a party month for us. Thomas's birthday is May 10th and as of now, this baby's birthday will be May 9th.!!! When I really stop and think about this baby, I am just overwhelmed with everything God has blessed and entrusted us with. My heart overflows with gratitude for everything He has done for our family.

UMC Halloween Party for the Kids

We got some scrubs as a baby gift for Thomas when he was born..monogramed and everything. So since he loves his daddy and wants to be just like him, he was a doctor for this halloween party. Look at him checking out Emma-the queen bee. These pics aren't the best since they won't be still long enough.

A Great Sound

I got to hear a really sweet sound today, the sound of our newest blessing's little heartbeat. Thomas is going to be a big brother in May. Here is he modeling his new shirt. We are very excited and oh so thankful to the Lord for entrusting us with one of His many precious gifts.

The Fair

We took Thomas to the Fair on Monday....the hottest day ever!!!! Thomas rode the carousel for only 3$(what a bargain!). So, my funny fair story is this. About a month ago when my car was getting some work on it at Barnett's body shop, John was making small talk to the man and asked if they were busy....etc... and the man replied, "Well things really slow down for us when the fair comes to town". John asked, "Why?". The man replies, "Well people take out loans so they can go to the fair which means they don't have the money to get their cars fixed"! I kid you not, that is what that man said! People taking out loans to go to the fair........oh my!!

Monday Night Football

John was teaching Thomas last night about Monday Night Footabll. The Saints played the Titans-the Titans won. This is Thomas, his saints autographed hat his daddy got for him, his cookie, milk, remote control, and bus...his new favorite toy. The hat doesn't quite fit that well, might have to do with Thomas having a large head? Anyway I thought these pictures were cute!

Suprise John

So we-I mean we because I had so many people helping me pull this off-pulled off John's surprise party Sunday night. I was so worried he was going to find out-because he likes to be in the know, but he had no idea. His dad had made him so made because he kept from being home when he thought he was actually home, the thought never crossed his mind that something was going on. Thanks to everyone who helped. We had a great night and lots of fun celebrating John. He is an awesome husband, terrific father, and great friend to so many. We are very blessed to have him in our lives. We look forward to celebrating many many more birthdays. Thanks to all our friends who helped us celebrate.

Beach Comber

We went to the beach with the Jackson family. How rare that John and Jeremy get 3 whole weeks off a year and one of the 3 just happened to be at the same time...great blessing. The boys had a great time playing together or atleast Thomas had fun stealing Graham's passy and Garrett's blankie.We ate a lot of food, slept, and played on the beach a little. It rained a lot.
John turned the big 30 while we were there, so that was fun to celebrate....every birthday is better with a trip

Our small group is growing very fast with the latest blessing-Ally Mattern born this weekend, and 3 more babies on the way.
I went with some of the girls in my tuesday morning bible study to Deeper Still and heard some great, great, great stuff from some awesome women. The Lord spoke so much truth into my heart. I just pray I can remember it all! The girls had way too much fun and made some new friends
Got to help with Beauty for Ashes at my church for single moms-such a blessing to be able to serve and meet some really neat women who have a great faith in God.
Ummm..other than that we are back to life as normal.

A New Blog

For those of you who don't really know me, I love to sew. I started "Kidthreads" my sewing company about 3-4 years ago..I can't really remember. So, I have ventured out and created a blog to share some of the things I make for Thomas and friends. I do have some things for sale, but this is not me starting my own business...just having fun and making making a little cash to support my hobby. Hi, my name is Thomas, I like big people's shoes, cell phones, and drool. Drool means more teeth and more teeth means more food:)



A little side note: I have a lot friends who have either had their blessing or are growing their blessing in their belly right now. Everytime I see a new baby, look at my own blessing, or hear of a friend's good news..I am reminded of the miracle of life God gives us. I am so thankful for all of them, thankful God chose us to raise Thomas, and thankful for all He is teaching us about Him through raising Thomas. Thank you Lord for every good and perfect gift comes from YOU!

I had a nice charge on my debit card this weekend becasue someone felt the need to steal my number and order $1,009 of flowers from 1-800 Flowers. They also felt the need to travel...to Turkey-however the plan tickets did not go through. Thankfully, we have a great bank that is working on getting our money back. Big Boy Hair Cut

We went to see Mrs. Liza today for a real big boy haircut. Thomas was such the little man. He sat on the box in the chair all by himself. He was extremelty still. Mrs. Liza cut the front, sides, and even got the razor out to cut the back. I did tear up a little as I watched her cut his hair because he looked like a big boy and not a baby. So to go along with his hair cut, I had to dress him in big boy clothes...not my beloved john johns! Her are some pics from our photo shoot

Babies, Babies, Babies

So many babies to rejoice about. Just wanted to give a shout out to all our friends who are expecting their sweet bundles of joy.
If I even attempted to write everyone's name down, I know I would forget somebody's sweet baby and I certainly don't want to do that!
So, if you are reading this and you do not have a blog, please please get one( especially if you live off) so I/we can see some pictures. If you are worried about the whole ... "everyone else has one"... or " I might become an addict"... its ok.....just give in to the pressure and join in the fun.

Feeding the Ducks

We went to Cock of the Walk with the Granthams a few nights ago. Here are some cute pics of our boys.





















This is Elias and yes he doesn't have any showes on...so if you know the Granthams and could donate some money to purchase sweet baby Elias some shoes...please, please, please send money now!! (The only reason I have to joke about this was that Chrissie felt so bad that she forgot his shoes...you know you think they are in the car and then when you get out of the car to go eat...they are not in there. So as we were outside..she said -I know everyone in there is talking about me and how they cannot believe I don't have any shoes for my baby)

I think Thomas was telling Elias he was sorry for the time he about pulled his ears off at their baby dedication..in front of his whole family. I don't really think that made them want
Elias to hang out with Thomas very much. But, it has not happened again...they are still good friends.

Grits Anyone?

You might not be able to see the grits all over Thomas. You just gotta love a 1 year old feeding himself grits.....guaranteed to be all over the place and then some.
