Yes...that is a spoon Caroline is holding. She isn't 4 months old yet, but she likes to eat and momma likes to sleep at night, so she is eating cereal. It is now her favorite nighttime activity.

Poppie's Party
So handsome....his first suit. Just like Daddy
This past weekend. We celebrated Poppie's retirement from the military. I think he served for 35 years...including the past 4 years at Adjutant General where he control the military for the whole state of Mississippi. Those four years were very busy as he dealt with the war, Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg being a training post before soldiers left, and Katrina...something we will never ever forget. We went to a very nice reception and then a dinner for him. Numerous people spoke about him, including John and Daniel. They both gave great speeches about their father. I was very proud of John and to be a part of the Cross family. Thomas has a great time. There was a band at the reception which he just loved. He started of kind of slow dancing and then he put the moves on. Everyone was standing around just watching him. Then when Layne came, Layne followed Thomas and his dance moves. Here are the pictures. Sorry they are blurry. They would not stand still. Mrs. Caroline just smiled and looked pretty in her new dress.

First Day of Pinelake School
His new backpack. We went out and got a brand new one at Apple Annie's. We had to leave it there so they could monogram it..he was worried about not getting it back. So last weekend I went and picked it up, came home, and showed it to him. This is what he said. "My backpack, Apple Annie gave it to me! "
Thomas had a great first day. He got to play on the playground, make a cute art project, and is still sleeping...so that means he had a lot of fun :)
Baby Dedication
The bonnet. I love a baby girl in a bonnet. So I bought this bonnet already made all I had to do was smock it. I bought a size up, because I figured Caroline was going to have a large head like her brother..thankfully her head is a little smaller. I smocked the bonnet, took it to the hospital, put it on her and it was way too big. So 2 1/2 months later, took it to my mom's house for her to wear at a little sip n see my mom had. I out it on her head, still too big. Thankfully, our neighbor and family friend told me that I was putting it on her backwards and didn't have the ribbon through the back of it. So, finally she wore the bonnet and it is too small. But, she is still going to wear it and hopefully I will be able to get a better picture of her in it.
Our attempt at a good picture.
The proud grandparents always there to show their love and support.
Caroline got her first Bible Story book from Boom Boom and Pop Pop.
We had the joy of dedicating our sweet Caroline last week. It is really a parent dedication, rather than baby. We had tried our best to prepare Thomas for what was going to happen. We told him that we were going to big church to say a prayer for Caroline....so this is how it really went. John, Caroline and myself were all sitting up front waiting for our name to be called. Thomas was sitting with the grandparents..well I think for a little bit. I turned around and he was climbing the stairs. So it is our turn. We walk down, I go and get Thomas. We pose to take our picture and Thomas yells out "CHEESE". So everyone laughed! Then during the prayer he was obviously peeking, he looked out, pointed, and said "Look there is Mrs. Jennifer". He did say Amen after the prayer. I was scared he was going to try to cut Chip off during the prayer and yell Amen, but he waited. So it was a great night of thanksgiving for His gift of our children.

More family pics
I got a few minutes to post some sweet pics...well atleast I think they are. This is my dad-Pop Pop and Caroline.
Thomas is telling Caroline, here touch my floateeez (as he calls them). He so wants her to just play with him. He turns around and says, Caroline rub my back? I have to take her hand and rub his back. Then he says, Caroline, wanna touch my hair? So I take her hand and touch his hair.
Thomas has also been working on keeping "Elmo dry and clean..that's right" (his words). That is, we are potty training, working our way to being a "potty animal". I you have not viewed Elmo's Potty time lately, you really should. It has really really helped us out in the potty training area. Let's just say that Elmo, his Daddy, and Sesame Street friends just tell it like it is!
Caroline is officially 3 months old yesterday. She is growing up way too fast. Still our sweet, smiley, little squishey(not sure how to spell that? been staying at home too long) . I know this is crazy but our schools started back and it hit me that Thomas will be going to kindergarten in 3 years. Where has the time gone and could it please slow down. I think I might even cry when I take him to his first day of Mother's Morning Out. Oh how I wish I could be a fly on the wall in his little classroom to see what all he does.
